As the second of three medical-surgical nursing courses, students will become adept at analyzing
collected data and delineating nursing care within a wide spectrum of bodily systems, encompassing the
integumentary, musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematology, urinary,
reproductive, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and immune systems. In this course, students build on the
fundamentals of fluid and electrolyte balance and intravenous fluid therapy to analyze causes, symptoms, and
treatments of imbalances. By effectively blending theoretical understanding with hands-on expertise,
students will develop the competence needed to provide safe and efficient patient care.
